“This concept stems from an actual event I experienced at Pacific Rim National Park in Long Beach years ago. My family decided to sit in an ebbing tide on a hot summer day when suddenly a huge wave enveloped us. A warming climate and more severe weather events are implied in “Surge” which is suggested in the approaching storm. Due to the warming of the planet due to global climate change, heat waves are more common and last a lot longer. Shade is now an essential for a day on the beach."
